時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句，定語(yǔ)從句

　　When he returned, the boy was able to describe everything he had seen to the old man.

　　長(zhǎng)句分析：

　　(1) when 引導(dǎo)的是時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句;

　　(2) he had seen: 是一個(gè)定語(yǔ)從句，修飾先行詞everything. 由于定語(yǔ)從句缺少賓語(yǔ)，因此省略了關(guān)系代詞that。注意：先行詞為不定代詞everything時(shí)，關(guān)系代詞不可使用Which；

　　(3) to the old man: 是做動(dòng)詞describe的賓語(yǔ)補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)；

　　(4) describe: 描述. Describe something to somebody : 向某人描述某物;

　　長(zhǎng)句翻譯: 當(dāng)他回來(lái)時(shí)，這個(gè)男孩能向老人描述他所看到的一切。
